Outlook 95 and Outlook 97

1.  Start the Outlook Program and click the Tools menu.

2.  Click the Services command.

3.Click on Internet Mail, and then click the Properties button.

4.  Check your Display Name and Email Address to be sure they are correct.  Also, check your account name and password to make sure they are correct.  They must be all in lower case and there can be no spaces either before or after the typing.

5.  Click the Connection tab.  Make sure Connect using the modem is selected and the Dial-Up connection is The Wizard OnLine.  With both of these correct, click the Edit Entry button.

6.  Under the General tab, make sure the phone number is either 867-6350 or 542-1549, and that the Use area and country code box is UNCHECKED.

7.  Click the Server Type tab.  The Type of Dial-Up Server should be PPP.  The only advanced option that should be checked is enable software compression, and the only allowed network protocol is TCP/IP.  Click the TCP/IP settings button in the lower right of the window.

8.  The settings in this window should match those pictured in the screen shot below.  Once they do, click the OK button in all the windows until you reach the Outlook window again.

9.  If all these settings are correct, your mail program should work properly.
